A thematic fortnight dedicated to Cities
France has chosen to put the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) initiated by the UN at the heart of its event programming. From October 28 to November 12, the France Pavilion has set the pace for its events and programming around the theme of Cities. Indeed, our societies are increasingly urban and pose ecological, social, cultural, economic and resilience challenges. It is therefore necessary to rethink our cities and our spaces in terms of mobility and ecological transition. Find out more
3 November - Photowalk
Gulf Photo Plus, the France Pavilion and the Institut Français in the UAE organized a Photowalk around the France Pavilion on November 3rd. The participants, guided by the professional photographer Mohamed Somji and their cameras and smartphones in hand, took pictures of the architecture and the lights of the Pavilion, built especially for the Dubai World Expo.

6 November - Rethinking Mobility
For the special day dedicated to Cities, the France Pavilion hosted some conferences, workshop and panel discussions to rethink mobility and the way we live in cities. This journey was in collaboration with the Cité du Design of Saint-Etienne, the Town of Saint-Etienne, the Metropole of Saint-Etienne, the Life Underground project of Hervé Cohen and the Institut Français in the UAE. Photo exhibition by Art Explora
Every two weeks, the France Pavilion hosts a photo exhibition on its esplanade to illustrate the Sustainable Development Goals defined by the UN. For the fortnight dedicated to Cities, the France Pavilion and the Art Explora Foundation wanted to highlight the artworks of 8 French artists who question the place of ecosystems and environmental issues in urban areas.

The new temporary exhibition "The French art de vivre, a dream to share", by Chalhoub Group
Chalhoub Group presents at the France Pavilion the temporary exhibition “The French art de vivre, a dream to share”, an immersive exhibition about French art de vivre via tableware, until December 6th The temporary exhibition, organised by the Chalhoub Group through its art de vivre concept store Tanagra, showcases the three legendary houses Baccarat, Bernardaud and Christofle for an immersion into the French art de vivre.
This immersive exhibition combines prestigious creations with a spectacular scenography to take visitors through the process of French creation and savoir-faire while exploring how modernity is redefining the French tradition of tableware. Free entrance without reservation. Read more
At the occasion of the opening of the temporary exhibition by the Chalhoub Group, the France Pavilion was honored to welcome Patrick Chalhoub (President of the Chalhoub Group), Michel Bernardaud (Chairman of the Board of Bernardaud), Emilie Metge Viargues (General Manager of Christofle) and Hervé Martin (General Manager of Baccarat).
The France Pavilion, the business place at Expo
On November 1st, CCI FRANCE UAE has organized its monthly networking event at the Belvedere of the France Pavilion. More than 200 members and partners gathered together to network and create business synergies, showcasing the dynamism of the French, Francophile and Francophone business community in the UAE. This event was organized with the kind support of Equance.
On November 3rd, the AFEX (French Overseas Architects) organized several panel discussions on the French approach to the sustainable city: structural elements of the city, tourism issues and reversibility of the city.
The France Pavilion has welcomed on November 7th a large delegation of French companies whose savoir-faire and excellence are recognized by the Label Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV). Some of them are present at the France Pavilion such as our sponsors Duvivier Canapés, Lafuma Mobilier, Roger Pradier and Malongo France.
Throwback to the French ministerial visits
On November 8th, the French Minister of Transport Jean-Baptiste Djebaari was visiting the France Pavilion. His presence echoes France's commitment to offer innovative and solutions for a more sustainable mobility that serves citizens, exhibited in the Pavilion's permanent exhibition. The Minister has also visited the Expo 2020 site, and specially the Pavilions of the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Mobility Pavilion. The Minister closed a day of conferences on rail mobility and smart city, organized by Fer de France and the Comité Richelieu.
On November 9th, the French Minister Delegate in charge of Small and Medium-Sized Entreprises Alain Griset came to the France Pavilion to visit the permanent exhibition and temporary exhibition dedicated to art tableware. He also met with many representatives of French VSEs and SMEs, many of which are involved in the Pavilion, testifying the dynamism of these companies internationally.
