Special Day KIDS and Diabetes in Schools campaign

The KiDS Project is created by the International Diabetes Federation with the support of Sanofi at global level to raise awareness on diabetes within the school environment, as school children, nurses, teachers and parents of children are key contributors to the awareness levels in societies.

The project activities include providing training to nurses, hosting various programs and activities for children within schools, as well as deploying a variety of educational tools and learning resources to empower the key stakeholders with the latest knowledge about the different types of diabetes amongst children and how to handle the different situations that occur with diabetic kids. The project was initiated across the world, including in the UAE and the Greater Gulf region, and is run in schools in collaboration with Ministries of Health and Ministries of Education.

The KiDS Diabetes Campaign Booth at France Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai will serve as a reflection of 5 years of successful collaboration in the UAE between Sanofi and the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) and the Ministry of Education (MoE) in raising diabetes awareness for kids. All schoolchildren, their parents, guardians, teachers, and school staff visiting the booth will have the opportunity to enjoy various educational activities and gamifying stations. Their journey booklet will be marked with a sticker and a stamp for every station completed. Children will have the opportunity to collect the stamps through different stations in the booth and will each be rewarded with a goodie bag. Adding a further element of fun and excitement to the activities around the booth will be “Tantoon,” the official mascot of the KiDS Project who will welcome children and help them around the booth together with educators from MoHAP.

Sanofi is the Thematic sponsor for the France Pavilion's fortnight dedicated to Health.
